Government today announced the details of its Petrocaribe funded Summer of Sports programme. GOB will make five hundred thousand dollars available to assist sports summer camp organizers with funding grants for their summer sporting programs. It's limited to ten thousand dollars per programme, and only programs that have been in existence for three years will qualify. Eligible programs must cater to children ages five to 17, must have at least 30 children in the camp and must have secured sporting facilities with rest areas and restrooms.

The release stresses that for this year, only sports camps will be awarded grants.

So for all those summer camp organisers – where do they line up? Well, it will be administered through the Sports Council – and you can pick up the two page form there, of check the government of Belize web portal at belize.gov.bz.
