Placencia police are looking for an accused drug peddler who they say escaped from them on Sunday evening - and left his infant child in the police's hands.
He's 39 year-old Devon Dale Logan, and according to police he was busted with a small amount of marijuana on the on the peninsula. At around 5 p.m., he was seen leaving an area of the village which is known for drug activity, and he was with his 7 month-old baby son. The officers detained him with the drugs, and they placed him and his son in the vehicle. They say that while they were moving off to drive him to the police station, he jumped out of the moving vehicle and ran away, leaving his 7 month old baby behind.
When he is caught, he will be charged with drug offences, as well as abandonment of a child. But, police intelligence is that he is hiding out in Belize City. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the nearest police station.
