Meet The New Justices Of Appeal

Two new Justices have been appointed to serve as judges of Belize Court of Appeal. They are 65 year old Justice Murrio ducille and 65 year old Justice Franz Parke, both of them Jamaican nationals. They were sworn in yesterday by the Governor General, his Excellency Sir Colville Young.

Justice Ducille, an attorney, is a member of the Jamaica Bar, the Bar of the Bahamas and the Bar of Dominica. He has served as a Clerk of Court, a State prosecutor, Acting Solicitor General, a chief prosecutor and Attorney General in Bahamas, a Chief magistrate in Antigua and Barbuda and Director of Public Prosecutions in Dominica. He began his private practice in 1977. Justice Parke's appointment is only temporary. He is also an attorney and he has been admitted to practice law in both Jamaica and the United States.

He has served as a Crown Prosecutor in Jamaica, an Assistant State attorney in the Dade County State Attorney's office and he has also served as a prosecutor for homicides. In 2002 he continued his private practice defending federal and state criminal cases in the United States. In addition to that he handled family and civil litigation cases. In 2008 he began work as an Assistant Regional Counsel in criminal defence in Dade County.
