Police are investigating the rape of a 15 year old student in Dangriga. Yesterday morning at around 11:00, the 15 year old girl was heading over to meet her father who has a stall at the market in the Foreshore area in Dangriga. But on her way to the market, a man grabbed her and forced her into the Baptist Church compound nearby and raped her. A medical examination conducted certified that she had been raped. The man's face was covered and police are interviewing people in the area who might have seen something.
And in the same Foreshore area, another teenager was sexually assaulted – this time by the father of hew newborn child. Yesterday evening at around 7:30, the 16 year old was at home with her 3 month old baby when the father of the child came by her house with supplies for the baby. But while they were talking, he tried to take her clothes off – she resisted and then he attacked her. She had bruises around her neck and abrasion to her knee. The father has been detained pending charges of harm and sexual assault.
