Last night - it was murder again in the city - the second in four days. This time the target was a well-known taxi-man from the City Bus Terminal. 39-year-old Patrick Dean Tillett was at a residence on Cairo Street when he was riddled with a hail of gunfire. Monica Bodden found out more from his family today:...

Ian Arana - Brother of Deceased
"I had one of my good friend from out of the police department who called me and told me that Dean Tillet got shot. I asked him 'are you serious?' and he said 'yes' so immediately I got up and went out to the area."

Monica Bodden reporting
By that time 39 year old Taxi driver Patrick Tillett had already been rushed to the KHMH -where he succumbed to his injuries only minutes later.

The shooting happened here on Cairo Street just five minutes before 10 last night.

Tillett was sitting on a cement block in front of this this house socializing - when several shots were fired in his direction.

The fatal shot enter his left armpit and then pierced through his chest.

Supt. Hilberto Romero, O.C., - Crimes Investigation Branch
"Around 10:15 on Wednesday the 24th day of June 2015, police personnel visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they found Patrick Spencer with a gunshot injury to the armpit and to the arm. He succumbed to his injuries thereafter. Investigations reveal that he was sitting on a piece of cement block on Cairo Street, when a person approached him and fired several shots at his direction causing the fatal injuries. His car was parked at another street adjacent to that street and he was a taxi driver."

Reporter
"Sir, the motive behind that shooting."

Supt. Hilberto Romero
"Yes we have no motive at this time. Our investigators are on the ground doing their work."

Ian Arana - Brother of Deceased
"When I arrived at the hospital, he was dead already, he was already wrapped and pronounced dead."

Monica Bodden
"To what part of his body did he receive the gunshot injuries?"

Ian Arana - Brother of Deceased
"On his left hand, in the muscle area. The bullet went from there through to somewhere around the heart area. Tomorrow will be the autopsy so I'll know for sure which organ was damaged or..."

Monica Bodden
"But it was one shot?"

Ian Arana - Brother of Deceased
"Well as far as I saw, it was one shot. I didn't inspect the entire body but that one shot was the one that I saw through the arm."

And while police have no motive for this latest homicide, friends and family of Tillett strongly believe he was not the intended target.

Ian Arana - Brother of Deceased
"It's kind of hard to believe, knowing the person he is. Everyone would tell you not Nally, because personally he has no enemies. I could never think of anyone who would abstract Nally that way there. Nally would run his taxi in any neighborhood, I would see him run out of gas, he'd walk down Freetown Road and I'd be like 'boy you serious'. He'd be like 'yea I'm just going for gas, I don't have a problem with anybody', to be passing around those neighborhoods, which I wouldn't do. So as far as I know, the person he did it, I know he's sitting down right now and saying he's sorry for what he did. That's not the person he wanted to do it to, but this has to stop."

Patrick Nally Tillett - the cabbie well known for driving this battered blue Mercedes - was the brother of Kevin Carcamo - the Hattieville Chairman who went missing in July of 2014. For his family this is double tragedy.

Ian Arana - Brother of Deceased
"This is like the third time because just for the record, we're still in search of my brother, the chairman of Hattieville who went missing. Everyday it's just a different struggle and a different fight, but God doesn't give you anything more than you can handle. I'm there for all of them and they understand that."

Patick Tillett leaves behind 2 children. So far police have no suspects detained.
