PUP Call On Castro To Resign
posted (July 7, 2015)
Last week we told you about the embarrassing end to Edmond Castro's ill-fated lawsuit against whistleblower Alverine Burgess. Basically, the judge told him to ditch a losing case and cut his losses - even if it meant having to pay Burgess's and Channel 5's costly legal bills. And he also has to pay a hefty political price. The PUP issued a release early this morning saying, quote, ""It was expected that on the withdrawal of his lawsuit, the Minister of State would have offered a public apology and tendered his resignation." It continues, quote, "In the interest of decency, the integrity of the high public office he holds and the principles governing Ministerial office..,Minister Castro must resign his office or be fired by the Prime Minister."

The opposition formally calls on Castro and/or the PM to take such action. There has so far been no comment from the government, but neither of those things is likely to happen.
