Police are reporting that they also caught another man this weekend trying to break into a house. He's 27 year-old Peter Portillo, a labourer of Coffin Street, Belize City, and tonight, he's out on bail after being taken to court for the allegation.
Police say that a neighbor of Belize City resident Leroy Green called them and reported that a man was trying to break into his house. When they showed up to Green's residence, they allegedly found Portillo at the backdoor, trying to break in, and he had already damaged the lock.
He was arrested and charged with attempted burglary, and he was arraigned before Magistrate Ladonna John. He pleaded not guilty, and he was released on bail of $3,000. He must return to court on September 29.
