He's been fighting a child molestation charge for 2 years, and tonight, 52 year-old Belize city resident Charles Bucknor is spending the first night of a 3 year sentence after he was convicted before the Chief Magistrate today. The minor, who was only 12 at the time of the incident, testified in a trial that IN July, 2013, her grand aunt hired Buckner to repair the ceiling in the bathroom, and that's where he began eyeing her.

She was watching television on her grand aunt's bed, when Bucknor sexually assaulted her, and then threatened that if she said anything he will deal with her. As soon as she could escape, she called and reported the incident to her mother. They arrested Bucknor and charged him with burglary and aggravated assault of an indecent nature. That burglary offense was later dismissed due to lack of evidence, and he denied the sexual assault charge in the late stage of his trial. When it concluded today, however, the Chief Magistrate Smith told him that she didn't believe his defense. She found him guilty and sentenced him to 3 years in prison.
