Shot By Cops, Man Says For No Reason

Robert Flores was shot by police yesterday - and today he want to court charged for damage to property. Flores was charged for damage to property for trying to strip the copper out of the electrical line into "A and R" store on the northern highway in Belize City - causing $1,500 in damages. He told the court that he had already surrendered to police when they shot him twice in the foot, once in his instep and once in his toe - which severed the toe.

Magistrate Rogers offered Flores bail of $800 plus one surety of the same amount. But he was unable to meet it by 12 noon and he was taken into custody at the Queen Street Police Station and he was seen hopping into the police van.
