Tonight we start the news with the stories of two teenaged males shot: one 15 year old murdered in Hummingbird Highway home invasion, and a 16 year old critical in Belize City after an accidental shooting. First to Dangriga where a 15 year old was killed when he happened upon a home invasion at his grandfather's house. It happened at mile 35 on the Hummingbird Highway near the gap - at Thomas Polanco's residence. Polanco is a bus operator, and police believe that one of his former employees set up the home invasion to rob him. Wearing masks, they stormed into the house this morning, tied up Polanco and his family members who were at home and helped themselves to three thousand dollars and his shotgun. Unaware of what was happening his teenaged grandson, Briaton Tharique Polanco who was out in the field heard a commotion and ran up to the house. That is when one of the robbers fatally shot him with his grandfather's shotgun. Police believe the key suspect is a Honduran and that the trio of culprits have already taken to the bush.
