Bradley Snubbed Santi
posted (August 21, 2015)
The UDP convention for Caribbean Shores was in May - and the outgoing area representative, Santino Castillo is wrapping up his first and last term in office. He's transitioning back to private life, to his family business - and says he stands ready to support his successor Darrell Bradley, if called upon. But we get the distinct impression, he isn't being called upon - because Bradley seems that he doesn't put too much stock in Santino's remaining political capital. That was pretty much confirmed back in May when Castillo wasn't invited to Bradley's convention - or at least that's what we were told. At an event last night in san Pedro we got to ask him directly about it - after he spoke in general terms about supporting Mayor Bradley in general terms:...

Santiago "Santino" Castillo, Jr, Santiago Castillo Ltd./Min. Of State
"And i think that Darrell stands a very good chance in Caribbean Shores, and, ahm, if he needs my assistance on Election Day whenever that is called, I am her to assist Caribbean Shores."

Jules Vasquez
"Sir are you being excessive magnanimous. I didn't see you at his convention and I saw a lot of people there. A lot of news came out of that convention. And a lot of people were there saying bogs things, but I didn't see you there. Were you invited to attend the Bradley Endorsement Convention?"

Santiago "Santino" Castillo, Jr, Santiago Castillo Ltd. /Min. Of State
"Jules you put me on a spot and I can't lie. I was not invited and I was also out of the country."

Jules Vasquez
"Even with that you are willing to stay around and help?"

Santiago "Santino" Castillo
"Jules, let me tell you something I learned from Dean Lindo; Dean Lindo when I first got into politics this time around told me Santi, never bad mouth a UDP and yes I am still willing to help the good mayor if he calls on me."

Later on we'll have more form Castillo as he puts on his private sector hat at a major event for his family business, Santiago Castillo Limited.
