Cops Keeping It Safe In Carnival
posted (September 9, 2015)

And while the cop – slash – attorney Chester Williams loves enforcing all the rules on the books – he says the public drinking limitation is about public safety, which is a priority going into Carnival Day. He says police will be blanketing the city streets to make sure safety is assured:..

Sr. Supt. Chester Williams - OC, Eastern Div. Southside

"I can say to Belizeans who intend to come out and watch the carnival parade or the 10th or 21st parade; that they can come out and the police will ensure that all persons who come to enjoy the parades are safe. We have our security measures already put in place. We'll be having officers saturating the city and most importantly the route of the parades will be covered in its entirety during the parade. And we are getting supplementary officers from Belmopan, SPU and the Gang Unit; who will be working the parades along with the police officers who would normally be on day off in Belize City on that day in question. We'll be having a very good amount of officers to ensure the safety of all persons who come out to enjoy the parades."
