This morning the Military Liaison Office at the US Embassy hosted the opening of an emergency operation and community center in Hattieville. It is a part of the 2013 project that will offer villagers shelter in times of disaster. 7news was present at the ribbon cutting and we spoke to US Ambassador Carlos Moreno.
The project was funded through the US department of Defense Humanitarian Assistance Program and totaled 820,000 Belize dollars.
