Five Year Old Shot In Belmopan Drive By
posted (November 2, 2015)

A pair of twin brothers and a 5 year old boy were shot in Salvapan on Saturday night. The brothers 26 year old Elvis Godoy and Josel Godoy were hanging out in their yard on Saturday night when two men pulled up on a motorcycle and shot at them. Elvis' 5 year old son Elvis Jr. had just come out of the house and was also shot. Luckily they all survived. We spoke with the father of the twin brothers and he told us he has no idea who would want to harm his boys

This red Nintendo DS is 5 year old Elvis Godoy Junior's favourite video game. On Saturday night he rushed out of the house – like many nights - to show his dad how good he was at playing it.

His dad Elvis Godoy Sr. and his uncle Josel Godoy were sitting on this makeshift bench under this tree. But as little Elvis ran out to meet them, two men on a motorcycle stopped in front of the house and fired about 12 shots at them.

There was a group of men in the yard but only the twin brothers Elvis and Josel Godoy and little Elvis Jr. were hit.

Their blood still stains the cracked mound of dirt and the tree under which they always felt free and safe is now slashed and bullet riddled.

Translated from Spanish to English...

Arturo Godoy - Father

"The men were right here together taking their drink and when suddenly 2 men passed by on a motorcycle and after that they started to shoot."

They had on masks and since it was Halloween, they were dressed in black and they had on their masks. One of them is in the most critical condition because they operated on him and took out his Kidney and the baby is stable and the other is okay, it is only one – Elvis – who is very critical."

"The baby has a gunshot in his arm and the other in his leg and a wound on his face here and now the other one – Josel – has one shot in his arm, one on his face and one in his back that came out through the front of his stomach here.

We tried to reach Belmopan police but they did not respond. As far as the father is concerned, his sons have no problem with anyone. The 5 year old is in a stable condition at the KHMH.
