A dangerous prisoner from Dangriga is still at large tonight. He is Lawrence Bernardez - who escaped from police yesterday. Bernardez is serving a five year sentence for a firearm offence, and was in Belize City Magistrate;s Court answering to a charge of burglary. But when the police mobile slowed down near a speedbump in Hattieville, he and another prisoner Eden Guzman jumped out of the back of the pickup. Police caught Guzman and shot him in the leg, while Bernardez ran off. He remains at large tonight and anyone seeing him is asked to call police.
