Vehicles Flip On Both Highways
posted (December 18, 2015)
Last night we didn't get to show you our footage of a serious, but luckily not fatal accident on the northern highway. It happened at around 2:00 at mile 34, when a white Ford Ranger pickup truck heading towards Orange Walk lost control and flipped. The driver of the vehicle, Fernando Chan, from Ranchito Village, Corozal, said he suffered a blowout and lost control of the vehicle.

Now, there were as many as ten passengers in the vehicle including children. But, no one was seriously hurt, although passengers had serious face and body injuries. They were transported in tow ambulanced to the Northern Regional Hospital and the KHMH.

And today, there was another accident today in Rural Belize district, but this one on the Western Highway - and it also involved a Ford Ranger that flipped. This one happened at mile 26. Police say that Franz Schmitt was marking the highway with no road safety equipment and caused Lloyd Monroe to flip off the road unto the embankment. No one was injured.
