A 25 year old woman who says she is a newlywed is spending the new year in prison - after she took money which magically ended up in her account. Martinez was today remanded on a charge of handling stolen goods - what she handled is 3,500 dolalrs of what police say is someone else's money. She said that she was getting married on July 25 and on July 22 someone deposited the money in her account as a wedding gift. She withdrew $1,000 the same day then she withdrew $2,500 afterwards.
But the money was somehow pulled from Karen Bevans account at First Caribbean Bank - and Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser remanded her today when she appeared in court. That's when Martinez burst into tears right in the courtroom. Nonetheless, she remains remanded until January 8, 2016.
