Ministry of Health: Still No Answers for Siera
posted (January 5, 2016)
Last night we told you about Siera Hodgson's sad story. Siera's biological mother, Mary Castillo, was admitted into state psychiatric care in 2006. Over the past 6 years since she moved with her foster mother to Scotland, Siera has been visiting her mother and writing letters to her from the UK. But this year - on boxing day - when Siera went to see her mom at the Palm Center in Belmopan, they told her that her mother was missing. Now Siera is outraged because she claims no one from the Palm Center contacted her. She told us that the Center has her home address and phone number in the UK. Today she told us via email " I have received no letters from them about my mother going missing , if I did receive them I would have went on the next plane to see what the situation was about. She adds "In July 2014 my adopted mother Shona gave them our house number again and it has never changed .We used to call the institute too, over the 10 years where my biological mom was living there. I had many opportunities to speak to my mother over the phone. So they are covering their backs by lying about that too. Plus my mom always checks if there were any missed calls and we received none from them." She ends off by saying "It's very frustrating! …I think they thought I wouldn't care or that I would forget my own mother because she must be just a number to them."

When we contacted the CEO in the Ministry of Health he told us via text "we are looking into confirmation of report by staff that they tried to communicate with the daughter. In other aspects, reports show they followed protocol and police was informed about missing person and the case was followed by them."
