Police in Independence Village say that this man, Shane Bennett, has escaped. The 29 year old was in the holding cell at the Intermediate Southern Formation Police Station when he slipped out. It happened sometime between 12:00 a.m. and 12:25 a.m. yesterday. Police say, quote, "If seen, kindly detain and inform the nearest police station." And then they add, quote, "he should be considered armed and dangerous as he is known to carry firearms." So we would ignore that first piece of advice on "detaining" him - and if you see him, just lock your door and call the police. He was on remand for Burglary, Theft and other crimes.
