He was possibly the most wanted man in the world, and this afternoon news broke that Mexican authorities had caught Joaquin El Chapo Guzman, the head of the Sinaloa Cartel.
The Mexican Navy led an operation at 4:30 this morning which found el Chapo in the town of "Los Mochis", which is on the west coast of Mexico in the state of Sinaloa. Reports from Mexico say it was a bloody raid and at least five of Chapo's men were killed. Five other men were arrested, and El Chapo was taken immediately to Mexico City for security reasons.
Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto broke the news with a Tweet saying,
"Mission accomplished. We have him."
