No Charges For Moszetta, Machete Wielding Mother
posted (January 26, 2016)
Last night, we told you about Biscayne resident Moszetta Reyes, the woman who killed her son-in-law, allegedly in self defence, last week Friday night. Well, she remains at home after being released from questioning by Ladyville police, and at this time, there is no evidence before the DPP's Office to suggest that she intentionally harmed 54 year-old Arthur Wade.

This evening, we spoke with DPP Cheryl-Lynn Vidal she told us that no final decision has been made on what her office's directive to the investigators will be. She told us yesterday that the evidence in her office's possession thus far does is not enough for police to lay any criminal charges against Reyes. The investigators are expected to provide the DPP's Office with other pieces of evidence that they may come across which would assist in reaching the final decision.

Reyes told the press and police that she was at home with her daughter Alva Reyes, who is mentally ill. Alva Reyes had been suffering from one of the episodes of acute mental illness, and so, she was locked in this enclosure for her own good. Her boyfriend, the recently deceased Arthur Wade, reportedly came to the Reyes family home demanding to key to open the door so that he could release Alva Reyes. That caused a disagreement with Moszetta Reyes and and according to Moszetta Reyes, Wade assaulted her with a stick. She told us that she tried to escape but Wade pursued her up the steps, and he allegedly kept attacking her with the stick. She said that she feared for her life, and right at the door where he was assaulting her, she came upon a machete which she used to defend herself.

That's when she chopped Wade twice: one to the back his neck, and another to the arm. He fell off the steps, and that's when the assault ended. Reyes called police who rushed Wade to the hospital. He had been bleeding profusely from his injuries, and on Sunday at around 6 p.m., he died from his injuries at the KHMH.
