There is another distressing suicide to report in the West: A 15 year old girl hung herself in San Ignacio. Yesterday morning around 7:00, the mother found her 15-year-old daughter hanging from a branch of an avocado tree in their yard. Police say they found a note at the scene in which the 15 year old girl expressed affection for a boy. Her mother told police that she suspected her daughter was having a relationship but she was not aware if there were difficulties in the relationship. She told police she had slapped and scolded her daughter on January 8th. Police are still investigating to see what exactly happened and what led her to take her own life. She was last seen at around 1:40 yesterday morning when she went to use the bathroom. She was a 3rd form student at Sacred Heart College. We will not reveal the identity of the child given the highly sensitive nature of these cases.
