Ombudsman Signs With Cops

After being officially reappointed as the Ombudsman of Belize at the House of Representatives last week, Lionel Arzu today signed a memorandum of understand with the commissioner of Police Allen Whylie at the Racoon Street Police Station in Belize City. The purpose for the MOU is to strengthen cooperation between both offices in the areas of protection and promotion of Human Rights and on the principles of rule of law, mutual equality and reciprocity. During the signing, the commissioner of police reiterated his commitment to the process and pledged his support for the collaboration noting that this is just one of the many avenues that the police department is pursuing in pursuit of "justice for all."
