Two nights ago we told you about the new Director of the National Sports Council who's trying to bring new life to the government body, which is in charge of all primary and high schools sport tournaments, plus the management of all public sporting facilities. Today, the new minister of state handed over a fleet of small motorbikes for all the district sports directors. He says they have to get out there, and get kids motivated:…

"In each district we have sports coordinators who have responsibility for the facilities, sporting facilities. Also they have responsibility to run certain programmes for us when it comes to sports such as dealing with the primary schools sports tournament that is ongoing now, also there to coordinate and being to plan sporting programmes for the district. A cycle is important for them because it will give them a bit of mobility to move about."

"Our greatest resources here are our sports coordinators in the districts and we need to give them the support, we need to let them get that feeling that things are going to be better and I do believe that empowering them with these cycles is going to do that and much more."
