Two weeks ago, we told you about the strange phenomenon at Southern Foreshore in Belize City. The sea bottom has completely silted up - and what used to be sea bottom is now a filthy silt beach, pushing up against the sea wall. It's persisted for weeks - and residents of the area tell us they've never seen it like that. What's behind it? And what can be done to fix it? Today, while we had the opportunity we asked Deputy Prime Minister Gaspar Vega about it, and he said he's going to look into it:

"We want to know the situation and is there any plan to deal with it because that's a major waterway."

"I'm not aware of it. But since you mentioned it, I'll look into it."
We'll keep following up to find out what measures the authorities will take to fix this problem in this major waterway.
