Ombudsman Arzu Officially Sworn Back In
posted (February 23, 2016)
Viewers may remember that in the January 22 House Meeting, Ombudsman Lionel Arzu's reappointment was opposed by the PUP's side of the Floor on the premise that he had not served the public adequately in his first term.

The Prime Minister disputed that assertion strongly, and cited accolades that Arzu had received both at home and abroad for his efforts as the Ombudsman. In that meeting, the House affirmed that he should be re-appointed. Well, the Government of Belize confirmed yesterday that Arzu was sworn into office by Governor General Sir Colville Young. He and his family were received by the Governor General, and he took the oath of office yesterday. He's now officially starting his second term

Also sworn in for his third term in office as Contractor General was Godwin Arzu. His re-appointment was also approved in the January 22 House Meeting.
