25 year-old Randy Dominguez, a resident of Biscayne Village, is spending the first night of a 3 year sentence after he was convicted of 2 counts of sexual assault on an 8 year-old girl.
The child testified that in June 2014, Dominguez fondled her. She also recounted to the Chief Magistrate that on another occasion, she was using the bathroom when Dominguez came into the bathroom and assaulted her.
Another witness testified to the court that she heard the child cry out, and when she went to investigate, she saw child sitting on the bed exposed with Dominguez in the room.
In his defence, Dominguez gave an unsworn statement in which he denies committing the offence.
After considering all the evidence, the Chief Magistrate found Dominguez guilty, and sentenced him to spend 3 years in jail for each count of sexual assault. Both sentences are to run concurrently, and so, he will spend a total of 3 years.
