"The wheels on the bus" and "Humpty Dumpy" those are just 2 of the many favorite nursery rhymes. But they are more than just fun songs to entertain kids - these jingles are an integral part of a child's early development. And, to celebrate early childhood development month, an opening ceremony was held at the Memorial Park this morning followed by a parade through the city streets. After singing along with the kids on stage, Minister of Education Patrick Faber told us about the importance of parent and teacher involvement in early childhood development.
Now in order for kids to be engaged and enthused at that early age, they must have trained and fully equipped teachers to guide them. Faber also discussed the teacher licensing and how it contributes to improved education for these kids.
There were over 8,000 early childhood students in the parade.
