Now as you heard in Briceno's interview, he believes this new senatorial line-up will be active and strong in defending the party – but they'll have big
shoes to fill when it comes to the formidable Lisa Shoman. Some observers wonder whether the party wouldn't have done well to keep her on in the senate
where she excelled in the parliamentary cut and thrust. Briceno told us this was not an easy decision but that he needed to give other people a chance in
the senate.

"Our party is full of talented people, we need to able to give opportunity to other people; but that does not mean that Lisa is not going to be working
for the party. She's a part of this very high powered team, the Belize Guatemala team that is made up of all former PUP foreign ministers and she is
going to be a part of that. I believe and I expect that she is going to play a key role in that committee and they are going to be other things that we
are going to be asking of Lisa. Don't believe that is the last you've heard or going to see of Lisa Shoman."
