Link Road Will Connect George Price and Phillip Goldson
posted (March 2, 2016)
Yesterday we told you about the major upgrade to the 3.5 mile stretch of road between the Haulover Bridge and the Airport junction. That project is for 13.5 million dollars. But there is an even bigger project in the pipeline. Government has earmarked loan funds to push a road from 8 miles on the Western Highway to the Airport on the Northern Highway. This link road as it is called would give easier access to the international airport for those coming in from the west. At next Tuesday's House Meeting, Government will bring a motion in the House to accept a loan of some $11.78 million US dollars from the OPEC Fund for International Development to build the road. The loan from OPEC will cover 87% of the total costs of the civil works component of the project. It is being called the Airport Link Road Project.
