Equipment Handed Over
posted (March 2, 2016)
Two weeks ago, the United Nations Population Fund, donated over $184 thousand dollars' worth of information gathering equipment to the Ministries of Health and National Security. The gear is part of an effort to curb violence against women. Today police invited us to their headquarters at Queen Street Police Station to see the distribution of these new pieces of equipment to the different police branches. We spoke to Inspector Fitzroy Yearwood and Sergeant Martha Rhys, Head of the Family Violence Unit of the Eastern North Division. They said that a matter as serious as family violence, is everyone's concern.
Police formations countrywide received equipment.
