Cotton Pickin’ Good!

In early February we told you about the grant from the Government of Japan to develop the Belize Sea Island Cotton Industry Limited. At that time, just like us, you were probably saying, "wait, which sea island cotton industry?"

Well there is one and it is actually rated the best in the world. So how do Belizean cotton growers produce such high quality cotton? And what makes it so sought after? We traveled north today to find out. Courtney Weatherburne reports.

Inoue told us that they plant the seeds in early July, harvest the cotton in November and then there is the full production in January. There are only about 20 workers at his factory and farm in the North.
