Cash Flow Crisis in Citrus Industry
posted (March 3, 2016)
This afternoon, the Belize Citrus Growers Association released a public statement that the Citrus Products Belize Limited, the company which buys the oranges from the Farmers, owes farmers 2 outstanding pay cheques.

Well, the Association is noting that CPBL has been working on a loan from the Heritage Bank to cover the payroll, but it's still being processed at this time. No one knows for sure when the loan, said to be a several million dollars, will be fully approved, but the CGA notes that its farmers need to be paid for their produce urgently.

According to the CGA, the CPBL remains uncertain when it will get the money.
