And while Briceno has to clear up the confusion on the ICJ issue, it appears that he also has to figure out what to do with the Belize Times Newspaper.
The paper has been operating in the red for years, and photographs we saw today suggest that the Belize Times owes the Government of Belize ten's of thousands of dollars in General Sales Tax. There is no date to say exactly when the arrears are owed, which, as seen here, are listed at over $39,800, and this one which says almost $4,000 is owed.
This note says that the proprietors of the Belize Times received numerous notes, and this final notice says that the arrears have not been cleared. The personnel from the GST, as noted here, is recommending court action against the PUP managers of the Belize Times for failing to pay General Sales Tax.
