Belize Law Enforcement Takes On Global Challenge
posted (March 3, 2016)
From Baker City in Oregon, USA to Las Vegas Nevada is 120 miles. That is about the same distance from Belmopan to Corozal through Boom. Now it's already a long and tedious stretch in a vehicle, so imagine how that it is on foot!! That's what the Baker to Vegas, B2V annual foot race is all about. It is one of the most prestigious law enforcement relays in the world that sees thousands of participants. This year Belize law enforcement was invited to participate. So for the past five months, personnel from police departments, BDF, Coast Guard, and Customs have been on some strict and brutal workout routines in preparation for this event - which is now only a couple weeks away. We stopped by at the Marion Jones stadium today as the team- dubbed the "Belize Protectors" held one of their daily training sessions.

They are fund raising and another event is coming up this weekend. The committee will be selling Belize Protectors t-shirts at the annual La Ruta Maya challenge and the public is being invited to buy a t-shirt or two, in support of the team.
