posted (March 22, 2016)
Tonight, 3 Police Officers: Emericiano Alcoser, Edwin Marin, and Jose Uh, are facing disciplinary and criminal charges after 3 males, 2 of them minors, accused the cops of putting a beating on them for no apparent reason.

2 young men, one of them 15 years old, and the other 16, reported to police that on Monday, they were asleep inside the 16 year-old's grandmother's house on Uruguay Street, in Belmopan. They awoke to the sound of their room door being broken down. 2 men, one dressed in a black police outfit, and the other in a standard police uniform barged into the room.

The 16 year-old says that he recognized officer dressed in the traditional uniform as one of his grandmother's neighbours. Both men immediately started to beat them, kicking and punching them all over their bodies. The officers threw them into the pan of a pickup truck, where another officer beat them while they were being escorted to the Belmopan Police Station.

The officers taking their statements cataloged the injuries on the two boys including bruises, and a wound over the 16 year-old's eye. There is a suspicion that the 15 year-old may have suffered more serious injuries to his head, but he has to get a check up to verify.

31 year-old Police Corporal Edwin Marin was arrested and charged with common assault. 26 year-old Police Constables Jose Uh and Emerciano Alcoser were charged with wounding.

Police make additional notes that in a separate complaint, Constable Jose Uh and Corporal Edwin Marin have been jointly arrested and charged with the offence of common assault.

All 3 officers have been placed on interdiction pending the result of their criminal cases.
