posted (April 20, 2016)

On Monday we told you about the murder of Leon Gordon.  It happened on Sunday night on Caye Caulker at a popular bar named Sip and Dip.  The 29 year old was trying to part a fight when he was fatally stabbed with a broken pint bottle.

Today, police charged the man who they say is responsible.  He is 20 year old Austin Gabourel of Calle Almendro Street, Caye Caulker.  He was arraigned before Chief Magistrate, Anne Marie Smith for a single charge of murder.  He was remanded to Prison until June 17, 2016.

Gabourel was allegedly struggling with bar owner Jeremy Rhaburn – who was trying to put him out of the bar.  Gordon got involved to part the fight, which is when he was stabbed. Gabourel also received cut wounds in the struggle – and appeared in court with a large cut wound to the right side of his face.
