Brown To Face Trial For Castro Headshot
posted (May 9, 2016)
39 year-old Frank Brown, a taxi driver from Belize City, will have to stand trial for the near fatal shooting of 33 year-old Albert Castro which happened in June 2014.

A preliminary Inquiry was held today before Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer. That's when the police prosecutor provided the court with all the witness statements and other pieces of evidence that the DPP's Office intends to use against him in the trial. He did not contest any of that evidence, and after the Senior Magistrate reviewed the documents, she ruled that there is a case against him.

With that she committed him to stand trial in the June Session of the Supreme Court, which will start on June 21, 2016.

As viewers may remember, Castro was shot at around 3 p.m. on June 30, 2016. Castro was driving with a female passenger. When they arrived at the corner of Fabers Road and Watermelon Street, they were approached by a man riding a bicycle who pulled out a gun, and shot Castro twice in the head. He had to be rushed to the KHMH for emergency care where doctors managed to save his life.
