Arrest For Ladyville Shootings, But No Murder Charge
posted (May 18, 2016)

Police have charged the 2 suspects in the weekend's Ladyville fatal shooting.

They are 19 year old Darwin Estuardo Prado and 28 year old Egbert Baldwin – but they haven't been charged with murder.  We'll explain that shortly, first, though, we'll tell you what they are charged with: 3 counts of attempted murder, 3 counts of use of deadly means of harm, 1 count of wounding, 1 count of grievous harm and 1 count of dangerous harm. Prado and Baldwin were charged with all these offenses for shooting at the men who were outside Cynthia Lozano's Marage road house.

Today at the Magistrate's court no plea was taken because the offences are indictable. They were also denied bail because the crimes involve a firearm. Prado and Baldwin were remanded into custody until August 15th.

The shootout happened early Saturday morning. Casey Lozano and 3 other men were out in the Lozano family yard when 3 gunmen approached – two from behind and one from in front of the house. The gunmen opened fire but one of the 4 men from Lozano's crew returned fire. It is during that crossfire that one of the gunmen, 23 year old Lionel Rhamdas, was shot and killed. Three of the men who were in the yard were also hit. Terence Flowers was shot in his right hand, chest and the back of his neck, Casey Lozano was shot in his right hand and Lyndon Gillett was shot in his right hand. But, a man was killed – that's Lionel Rhamdas – and so where's the charge for his death?

Well, police say they still can't establish if Lionel Rhamdas was accidentally shot by his own crew in the crossfire or if he was hit by one of Lozano's friends.
