Calaney Offers Defence; Says Her Baby Daddy Was Speeding; Caused his Own Death
posted (May 31, 2016)
29 year old Calaney Flowers opened her defence today - against the accusation that she deliberately ran over and killed her ex, Lyndon Morrisson, who is also the father of her 4 year old son.

She opened today with a teary statement from the dock denying any guilt. She testified that on the night of August 28, 2012, she and Morrisson had a conversation at a Chinese shop and she reminded him of the money he was to give her to buy some items for their son. She left the shop and was driving on Freetown Road when she claims he flashed past her at high speed, and then crashed into another vehicle. With tears in her eyes she said that she was terrified and all that she could do was go to his parents house and tell his mother, Lauren, that he had been in an accident.

That's quote a change in narrative and her attorneys, Dickie Bradley and Arthur Saldivar, called a witness to corroborate it. Keith Franklin, a security officer, was at Atlantic Bank on Freetown Road says he saw the driver of the motorbike lose control and collide into the front of a truck.

It's the first time this narrative is coming out, and under cross examination Franklin could not say why it took him so long to come forward, when it could have exonerated Flowers long ago. She has been on remand for about 4 years.

The trial without jury was adjourned until tomorrow for Justice John Gonzalez to hear closing addresses from the Crown Counsel, Sheneiza Smith, and lead defense counsel, Dickie Bradley.
