Truck Set On Fire In Early Afternoon
posted (June 14, 2016)
Shortly before 3 yesterday after, the fire Department had to rush out to Amara Avenue, where a jeep was on fire.

The vehicle, a gold Jeep Wrangler, was the property of well-known Belize City businessman Evan Tench, of Techtronic's Communications. The vehicle was used mostly by his son. The incident occurred in broad daylight and it was all caught on camera.

Here in this first angle, the camera shows the suspect ride past on a bicycle from the far right corner of the screen as he appears to be scouting the area

About one minute in, a second camera captures him as he passes near the jeep, acting suspiciously. Camera two only captures him briefly as he passes in and out of sight. He seems to be holding a red container, containing some sort of flammable liquid.

Then some 2 minutes later, the same person returns and ignites the vehicle at exactly 2:56 pm. The flames slowly consume the vehicle until about a minute later a white vehicle enters the scene- quite possibly the first responder.

Shortly after personnel from the fire department arrive at the fiery scene, but by then it was too late. The flames completely burnt out the inside of the vehicle. Now at this time don't authorities have a clear motive for the crime but there is suspicion that it involves a dispute over a female. As for a suspect police are still trying to figure out just who the person seen lighting the vehicle is. The value of the jeep Wrangler is estimated at $25 thousand dollars.
