Making Consumer Protection Work Better
posted (June 21, 2016)
How can consumer protection agents ensure you, the consumers, are getting value for money? That was the main focus of today's training at the Biltmore. Representatives from the Bureau of Standards, Customs and other organizations were at the training to learn about the revised consumer protection module. But they also discussed a new Information Technology platform that will be used to detect and stop harmful or hazardous non-food items coming into the country. The Bureau of Standards' Consumer Protection Liaison Officer Rudolpho Gutierrez told us more about the significance of this training session.

Today is the final day of the training. This initiative falls under a program that was signed between CARICOM and the European Union.
