Police Train On Cash Seizures And Money Laundering Laws
posted (June 21, 2016)
So, while the consumer protection regulators were being trained to better serve the public, the law enforcement officers were also being schooled on how to properly seize cash. We report countless times on drug and cash busts but it's way more complex than just searching vehicles on the highways or banging down doors and ransacking houses. There are specific strategies that must be enforced to try and stop money laundering and drug transactions. That includes doing a thorough investigation at the site of the seizure so that the evidence can be substantial enough to go to court. All that was discussed at today's training at the Biltmore and coordinator Ian McDonald detailed how significant this training is to effective police work.

Today is the 2nd day of the training. The training will end tomorrow with a workshop for Magistrates and other officials on how to deal with these money laundering cases in court.
