Anthony Crawford Shot
posted (June 22, 2016)

One man was shot to the chest on Monday shortly after our newscast and while we got there in time to see the fresh blood stains on the pavement, by the time we arrived BERT personnel had already rushed the bleeding man to the hospital. Later we found out that the victim was Anthony Leslie. The incident happened on Iguana Street Extension, and while that is a known gang turf, police are saying this particular incident was not in any gang related. ACP Chester Williams told us why.

ACP Chester Williams- O. C., Eastern South Division
"On Monday night sometime around 7 PM there about police responded to information of shots being fired in the area of Iguana Street extension. Upon arrival they saw one Anthony Leslie suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest region. BERT personnel were called to the scene and they treated him on the scene and he was then transported to the KHMH where he underwent treatment and he's still there admitted in stable condition. What we have gathered it is not gang related, it is a situation where we have been told that the suspects in this case went and approached the victim wanting him to engage in some illegal act and because the victim didn't want to cooperate with them that is the reason why he was shot. Police have since detained one Anthony Crawford and he is being charged as we speak for the crime of attempted murder, dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm."

Emanuel Pech
"Was he the only person involved in that incident?"

ACP Chester Williams- O. C., Eastern South Division
"There were 2 persons; we are still looking for another person."

Police are now in the process of charging Anthony Crawford for that shooting.
