And proving that it is a blue chip investment, BEL held its Annual General Meeting today. The utility realized a handsome profit of $29.4 million dollars, and paid out a dividend of $0.15 cents per share. The Company also repaid the $10 million loan it obtained from the Social Security Board in 2012. The company says it invested $27.7 million dollars to reduce outages, increase access to power supply and improve power quality.
