Now while that event is over, next is the Rio Summer Olympics in August. Belize is sending two track and field athletes to participate. Today, their names were announced. In the females category Belize is sending Katy Sealy, and in the males category Belize is sending Brandon Jones. Sealy is from England and Jones is from the US, but both have parents in Belize. We spoke to Deon Sutherland today as they got ready to make the big announcement.
The Belize Amateur Athletics Association is planning to debut the two players at a friendly competition this July. This will be their last race before the Olympic Games which is to take place in Rio in just a couple of months.
