And late this evening we also got to speak with Jasmine’s grandmother and aunt in Belize City. Her grandmother took care of her and raised her as a child but it is only recently that Jasmine left to go live with her mother in Mahogany Heights. Today Jasmine’s family told us what they suspect could have happened and expressed how broken the family will be now without their Jasmine.

The incident Petillo is talking about allegedly happened a couple weeks ago when Jasmine got into a confrontation with 4 women in the village. Reports are that Jasmine was detained in relation to that incident. We will keep following up with police and try to get more concrete answers as to why 17 year old Jasmine was killed.
