Man Mysteriously Shot On Crooked Tree Road
posted (June 29, 2016)

A man was injured with 5 shot gun pellets near Crooked Tree but he survived. Stephen Palacio had parked his car near the junction last night at around 8 and got out. That is when he was shot. Police say they do not have much information as to what exactly happened and why he was there but they told us today that they are still trying to confirm Palacio's version of the story.

ACP Edward Broaster - OC, Eastern Division Rural
"Last evening we had a shooting at the Crooked Tree junction where on Steven Palacio from number 15 Racoon Street received 5 pellet wounds from the blast of a shot gun. He was rescued by a vender who transported him to the Orange Walk hospital where he was treated. According to Mr. Palacio he saw some individuals catching crabs when he was shot. We don't have any further details at this time; we will be interviewing Mr. Palacio sometime later today. We are investigating what he was doing in the area; as far as we know it seems as though he was out of his vehicle because his vehicle was not injured, he was in a blue Mitsubishi SUV."

Police say they are investigating the connection between Palacio and the people he saw catching crabs. We will keep following this story.
