Mischievous Man Fined
posted (July 5, 2016)
33 year-old Alvan Myvett, who went to the police station and reported that he was held up by armed thieves, was fined today after he admitted that he made the entire story up.

Myvette, who works at Bluefield Range Caye, reported to police that on June 26, while he was at the fishing camp owned by his boss, 8 robbers, 2 of whom were armed, held him up at gunpoint. 8 days later, he went back to the police station and told the police that he made it all up. So, they charged him with the offense of mischievous act. When he was arraigned today, he pleaded guilty to the charge and told Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer that he recanted the report because he didn't want innocent people to get hurt.

For the fiasco, he was fined $150 to be paid by August 15, or he will spend 1 month in jail.
