And turning now from Belize Rural to the west, a mother of 3 was viciously killed in Belmopan. Reports are that early this morning after 3:00, 34 year old Regina Williams' body was found thrown in front of her Las Flores home. Her skull had been crushed and reports say that it's her 13 year old daughter who found her body. When we spoke to Williams' mother today over the phone, she told us that Williams went to La Cabana Night Club last night and probably hooked up with the wrong crowd. The mother recounts the gruesome discovery of her daughter's body and describes the depths of her loss and anguish.

"Until this morning they found her dead right in front of our house. The neighbor heard her screaming and when she came to look from her verandah to see what was going on, she didn't see anything. They must have already killed her by that time, because she had her pants half way down. It looks like they raped her. She went to Cabana last night. She likes to go to Cabana and we tell her over and over to stop going to that place, but she is stubborn. She was a nice little girl; friendly, happy and everything and doesn't mess around with anyone. She bathe me and cook for me and do everything for me and now I don't have anyone to take care of me now. My little girl is gone. I don't have anyone to take care of me now."
There are reports that Williams might have also been raped. In terms of the investigation, Belmopan police have already detained their main suspect - and he is being held pending charges. Williams leaves behind 3 young children.
